UHY Hacker Young becomes first Zest Diamond

The Sheffield office of accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has donated £500 to the Zest Centre's fundraising campaign to raise £30,000 to support our activities for local children and young people.

2014 is the Zest Centre's 10th anniversary year.  To celebrate we want to get more children than ever active through our programmes of activities.  We offer free or low cost sports and after school activities for around 150 young people each week, five nights a week in Upperthorpe.  Local high levels of child poverty mean that without our programme of sports, physical activities and youth clubs, local young people would be left with nothing to do.

Through their donation, UHY Hacker Young has become a member of the Zest Diamond Club.  When a company gives to Zest, they become a member of the Zest Diamond Club.  All Zest Diamonds will be invited to a birthday celebration in Sping 2015.

Any donation is greatly appreciated.  Just to give an idea of how we use donations:

  • £250 pays for 3 after school sports sessions such as cricket, tramplining or karate.
  • £500 pays for paint and materials to decorate our youth hub.
  • £1000 pays for football coaches for a year for Upperthorpe United Football team.  We are really proud of our under 12s local team which brings together young people from our divers local communities to play in a junior league.

Any company that donates £1000 or more will also receive the following benefits:

  • Logo on Zest website and publicity through social media during our anniversary year.
  • Logo on new signage outside the Zest Centre.
