Community Health Champion volunteers

Are you passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of people in Sheffield?  This role could be for you.

Community Health Champions are volunteers whose role is to support people to eat healthily, be physically active and improve their mental well-being, and so help to improve the health of people in Sheffield’s least healthy communities. The project is supported by several voluntary and community organisations, Sheffield City Council.

  • We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and willing to learn, and able to commit to volunteering for 16 hours a month for at least 6 months, as well as doing some training.
  • You don’t have to know a lot about health, but you will need to be good at listening to people and interested in helping them to solve their problems.
  • You can help people to live healthier lives by providing activities, information and support, and help make your community a healthier place by finding out about local health needs.
  • This volunteer opportunity provides you with useful skills, knowledge and experience, and training is also provided.

If you want more information or you interested becoming a volunteer please contact: Danielle Bradley, Health Improvement Officer, tel 0114 270 2040 ext 208 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
