Our Trustees

Membership of the Charity is open to individuals, Community or Voluntary Groups/Organisations who are interested in promoting the Objects and who live or work in the Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe, and Langsett areas of Sheffield and / or are service users.
The board has up to five member trustees and five non-member trustees. Member trustees are elected at the AGM on a rotating basis and the non member trustees are selected by the Trustee Board. In addition up to two other trustees may be co-opted onto the board.
The Trustees and the Zest managers meet regularly to provide robust governance and direction for the charity. They agree on strategic objectives, review performance and manage risks.

Lucy Smith
Lucy is the Chair of the Board of Trustees and has been on the board since 2019. Lucy is self-employed as a freelance consultant and is passionate about fundraising and community development.

Dave is Head of Business Development for Key Fund Investments, a social investor operating across the North of England.

Simon Jones
Simon was born in Sheffield and has grown up and lived in Upperthorpe for over 40 years, his father came to the UK from the Caribbean in 1955 as part of the Windrush Generation.

Kathryn Mudge
Kathryn currently works for Sheffield City Council as the Service Manager in Sport Leisure and Events. Previous to this role, Kathryn worked as a Development Manager for Yorkshire Sport Foundation and has worked within the Sport Development environment for 15 years.

Adam Butcher
Adam has a wealth of experience and knowledge at board level and has been using the facilities and services on offer at Zest for many years.

Ruth Womack
Ruth has been a Friend of Zest since 2011 and was at the forefront of the battle to keep the library, being amongst the first to volunteer.

Alison Grist
Alison has been working out of the Upperthorpe Library building since 1981(!) and has supported and provided advice for countless people in the local community over the years and championed the rights of the under represented and unheard. Alison has an intimate understanding of the needs of our community and is well placed to support and steer our work going forward.

Kelly Daubney
Kelly currently works as a Senior Manager (Health, Children’s and Carers’ Projects) for Sheffield Mencap and Gateway and previously worked as Operations Manager at Zest.

Abdul is a local resident and businessman who has been closely involved with the local community for many years.
